Men learn to be men!

So, I haven’t posted anything in a few days because nothing really came to mind. I was drinking a beer and I noticed something that was right there in front of me. Men are not men anymore. Where did all the real men go? What makes a man a man? So many questions were coming to mind and I needed to write about it.

There have been many changes in the roles of the sexes over the past 60 years. As a result, the expectation of men and the standard we are held to have morphed a little. But one thing is for sure: There are certain traits that define masculinity that most men and women would still agree upon.

For example; Men do not gossip, men make and keep promises, men are there for their families, men do not make excuses, men provide, men dress manly and do not wear skinny jeans and eye liner. A real man is focused and doesn't let stupid little things distract him. A man strives to be a role model. A man can defend himself.

When you are a boy, you see all these great men; cops, firemen, doctors, superhero’s from comic books or movies. You saw cowboys fighting Indians on old western movies that you watch with your dad and the number one hero in every young boy’s life is their father. As a young boy, you like to play cop and robbers, play with toy guns, and make to believe you are a knight in shining armor saving the princess from the evil dragon. You see soldiers and wish to one day be some heroic soldier in uniform.

I think this generation and the next will be a challenge for all men everywhere. You have these so called hipsters, you have guys wearing skinny jeans everywhere, and guys these days are so damn emotional. I mean it’s ok to be emotional as a guy, but sometimes you can go too far. Sometimes I see women who are manlier then men these days and it breaks my heart seeing how pathetic my sex has become. Guys need to man up! Find a pair and take charge!

well, I honestly don't know what else to say. I mean it jumps around but oh well. I was going to talk about why the hell do girls pick douchy guys? I mean for reals? maybe that will be my next blog post. well goodnight everyone. hope you enjoyed my unique perspective on being a man.
